Every box knows
what's inside and where it's going
Open a shipment and tap “Packing”: the lines of its orders are already there. You fill the parcels, place them on a pallet, and GSE-Web prints one label per parcel, each with its own barcode.

What you build
A shipment, organised just like on the dock
Packing mirrors what you see in front of you: pallets, parcels stacked on them, and in each parcel items that come from a specific order.

The shipment
It groups one or more outgoing orders bound for the same recipient.
The load unit
A pallet or a container, with its tare, its maximum payload and, for a container, its seal.
The parcel
A carton, a crate, a drum… with its type, weight, dimensions and marks.
The contents
Reference × quantity, with the number of the original order: you always know where each item comes from.
On the ground
From picked order to labelled box, in five steps
The example: two orders for the same joinery, twelve cartons, one pallet, a carrier arriving at 4 pm.
Open the shipment record
The “Packing” button sits in its action bar, next to “International”. It works for a domestic shipment just as well as for export.
The lines to pack are already there
The first time you open it, GSE-Web takes the lines from the shipment's orders. Under each description, the number of the original order: no more mixing up two orders.
Fill a parcel
“New parcel”: choose the package type, weigh it, enter its dimensions, then assign all or part of a line. “Still to pack” goes down with each assignment.
Place it on a pallet
Create a “New load unit” (pallet or container) and put your parcels on it. The fill level updates as you go.
Print the labels
“Parcel labels” produces a PDF: one page per parcel. Stick, load, and the carrier scans.

Parcel labels
One label per parcel, not one per order
The standard shipping label carries the shipment number, one per order. The packing label identifies each box, one by one.

One barcode per parcel
Code 128, built from the shipment number and the parcel's rank (EXP-2026-00042-P003). It is unique within your organisation.
The parcel's position
“Parcel 3/12”: the driver can tell at once if one is missing from the dock.
Everything the carrier needs to read
Recipient when known, pallet, package type, gross weight, handling marks and contents, order by order.
The code is copied in one tap
On the packing screen, the “Copy barcode” icon puts it on the clipboard: ready to paste into a carrier's portal or an email.
Scanning reopens the parcel
“Scan a parcel” reads that same code and opens the right parcel straight away. A parcel that belongs to another shipment is flagged.
Labels are generated by the app at print time: reprint them as often as needed after a change.
On the shipment record
Packing done, visible at a glance
As soon as a parcel or a pallet exists, the shipment record shows a “Packing” card. The shipping manager sees what is ready without opening the packing screen.
- ✓ The totals: number of parcels, number of load units and gross weight.
- ✓ Each pallet with its parcels, then the parcels that are on no pallet.
- ✓ For each parcel: its type, its gross weight and its contents (reference × quantity · original order).
- ✓ The “Parcel labels” button is also available from this card.

Parcels not on a load unit — 2 parcels
Built for the dock
Usable standing up, wearing gloves, with a handheld in hand
The packing screen was designed first for a handheld terminal, in the middle of picking. At the office, on a large screen, parcels and lines are shown side by side.
One parcel at a time
Large “Previous parcel” and “Next parcel” arrows: you move from box to box without searching through a list.
Nothing is rejected while you pack
A parcel not yet weighed, a half-packed line, a net weight above the gross: everything is saved and appears under “Reported anomalies”. You record what you see, and correct it afterwards.
The package type stays out of the way
The list of package types, taken from an international standard, stays collapsed by default and shows the chosen type: the weighing stays on screen.
The right figures, at the right time
Total gross weight, volume, chargeable weight for the carrier, fill level of each pallet. A container number is checked as you type: a wrong check digit is rejected, and the expected one is shown.
Domestic or export
The same packing, two uses
For a domestic delivery, packing is used to prepare, label and check. For export, it also feeds the shipping documents.
Standard shipment
- ✓Parcels, pallets and contents by order
- ✓Parcel labels as a PDF
- ✓“Packing” card on the shipment record
- ✓Anomalies flagged before departure
International shipment (GTM)
- Everything above, plus:
- +Packing list issued from the parcels you entered
- +Number of packages carried over to the CMR consignment note
- +Packing anomalies become blocking when a document is issued
Good to know
What packing does, and what it doesn't
Included in the GTM module
Packing is part of the international shipping module (GTM), offered with the CORPORATE plan and enabled organisation by organisation. Once the module is enabled, it also serves standard shipments.
Dedicated permissions
Viewing and packing are two separate permissions in the GTM category. Without the packing permission, the screen opens read-only.
Only while the shipment is a draft
Once the shipment has moved to the next status, or a document has been issued, the packing can be viewed but no longer changed.
Pack after picking
Lines are taken over only once. If they are taken before the orders are picked, they carry the requested quantity, not the quantity actually picked.
No offline packing
Packing needs a connection to the server. Unlike stock movements, it does not yet work without a network.
No more anonymous boxes on the dock
Show us one of your shipments: we'll pack it together, labels included, in a 30-minute video call.
Frequently asked questions
Does packing work for a domestic shipment, with no customs?
Yes. The “Packing” button is on the record of every shipment, whether it stays in the country or goes abroad. For a standard shipment, you prepare the parcels and pallets, print the parcel labels, and the record shows a “Packing” card that sums it all up.
Do I have to retype the items that go into the parcels?
No. The first time you open it, GSE-Web takes the lines from the orders attached to the shipment, each with its order number. You simply assign them to parcels, in full or in part. It is best to pack after the orders are picked: taken before, the lines carry the requested quantity.
How is this different from the shipping labels already available?
The existing shipping label prints one label per order, with the barcode of the shipment number. Parcel labels print one A5 page per parcel, with that parcel's own barcode (Code 128), its “Parcel N/Total” position, its pallet, its type, its gross weight and its contents.
Can I pack on a handheld terminal?
Yes, the screen was designed first for a handheld terminal: one parcel at a time, large arrows to move to the next one, and “Scan a parcel” to reopen a parcel from its barcode. Packing does, however, need a connection: it does not work offline.
Who can pack a shipment?
Members of a group that holds the packing permission, in the GTM category. The module must be enabled for your organisation (it is offered with the CORPORATE plan) and the shipment must be a draft; otherwise the screen opens read-only.
