Three statuses, one instant read

For each batch, GSE-Web assigns a clear status based on its expiry date.

Expired

Date passed

The batch is past its date. It shows in red in monitoring and exports — to be removed, checked or destroyed without delay.

⚠ Date passed

Close to expiry

Date under threshold

The expiry date is approaching the alert threshold (configurable per organization, 30 days by default). The batch turns orange — to be used up first before it is lost.

Expires in 5 days

Date OK

Beyond the threshold

The expiry date is well ahead. The batch is green: usable with peace of mind, while still taking priority over more recent batches when picking.

✓ Compliant

Configure → Capture → Monitor → Pick

The expiry date follows the product through its whole life cycle, with no re-entry.

1

Mark the product "perishable"

On the product sheet, enable the "perishable" option and set the alert threshold (number of days before expiry). Done once and for all.

2

Capture the date at receipt

At receipt or stock entry, the expiry date is mandatory for any perishable product: you cannot validate without it. Each batch carries its own date.

3

Daily scan + email report

Every day, GSE-Web scans the stock automatically — without anyone opening the app. Every morning, a full report of expired and to-watch products is emailed to the authorized recipients. An alert also shows on app open.

4

Automatic FIFO picking

On every exit, GSE-Web picks first the batch whose expiry date is closest. The oldest leaves first, automatically — in simple stock as in batch management.

Frequently asked questions

Does GSE-Web send an expiry alert automatically?

Yes. Stock is scanned automatically every day and an expiry report (expired and soon-to-expire products) is emailed every morning, without opening the app. An alert also shows on login.

Is the picking of products near expiry automatic (FIFO)?

Yes. On every exit, GSE-Web picks first the batch whose expiry date is closest (FIFO), in simple stock as in batch management.

Is the expiry date mandatory at receipt?

For any product marked perishable, the expiry date is mandatory at receipt or stock entry: validation is blocked without it.
